Children’s Librarian I and/or Librarian II - Prosser Public Library, Bloomfield

Children’s Librarian I and/or Librarian II - (depending on years of experience) $30.62/hrly or $32.20/hrly (Min Librarian I and Min Librarian II). Prosser Public Library seeks two creative and dedicated librarians who enjoy working with children and teens as part of a team. Work will involve reference and reader’s advisory service based on a strong knowledge of children’s literature, collection development and the planning and implementing of programs. Experience with marketing to these groups is a must. Candidates must have a solid appreciation of literature and other resources for youth, a knowledge and ability to apply technology toward these goals and enthusiastic enjoyment from working with young people. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum requirements include Masters in Library Science (MLS) from a ALA accredited college or university and one year related experience including library computer systems. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Must be available to work some night and Saturday hours. Selection Process: Candidates will be rated based on education, experience, and skills identified on the application, resume and cover letter as they relate to the requirements of this position. Additional examinations may include computer skills testing, written subject matter tests, and/or oral interviews or may be a combination of any of the above.
