Educational Technology Facilitator - The Hotchkiss School, Lakeville. Department: Information Technology Services. Job Status: Full Time Staff, Calendar Year. Reports to: Director of Information Technology Services. Travel: Occasional. POSITION SUMMARY: The Educational Technology Facilitator is a full-time, exempt, salaried staff position. The individual in this role provides leadership, assistance, and mentoring in the implementation of technology and communication tools to support Hotchkiss teachers in their delivery of the curriculum. This will involve planning strategically, managing projects, and significant daily responsibilities. While reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services, responsibilities require working closely with the Dean of Studies and all academic departments. Facilitating the Faculty Technology Training Team is another important responsibility. The Educational Technology Facilitator ensures that Hotchkisss technology resources are being utilized to best enhance curricular objectives, including the Schools Foundations of Learning and Strategic Plan, and to enhance student learning in general. To help achieve these goals, this individual is responsible for providing academic technology leadership, professional development, mentoring, and targeted technical support to The Hotchkiss School teaching community. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Educational Technology or similar field required. Higher degree preferred. Experience working with, teaching, and mentoring teachers. Previous experience in a dynamic, service oriented environment that values learning. Extensive experience in the use of technology in the classroom. Experience as a classroom teacher is strongly preferred. Demonstrated successful project management experience is highly preferred. Experience with Blackboard or another Learning Management System preferred. Skills: Superior customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and large and small groups. Ability to manage short- and long-term projects. Ability to design, create and deliver innovative instructional materials and programs on the use of technology to enrich teaching and enhance learning. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of faculty, staff, librarians and others in multiple departments across the school. Ability to work with individuals from a range of technological expertise, from highly technical to fearful of technology. Proficiency in software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Web publishing and navigation tools, and email. Knowledge of and proficiency in Web 2.0 tools, including blogs, wikis, social networking, and similar applications. Familiarity with existing and emerging technologies applicable to this role. Desire to maintain current expertise in this rapidly-evolving field. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment in providing services based on goals. Maturity of judgment under pressure; ability to resolve/mediate problems in a timely and effective manner. Other Requirements Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as necessary to support the School. This will include some scheduled Saturday work. Must be willing to serve on call as needed.
