Children's Librarian - Avon Free Public Library. Energetic, enthusiastic professional person to lead children's services in a vibrant public library about to embark on an ambitious renovation and expansion. Plans, organizes and supervises the Children's Services Department, including programming, collection development, reference and computer operations in providing services for pre-school, elementary, middle school students and young adults. Provides outreach and communications with schools and other agencies; will be part of library planning team. Supervises part-time staff and volunteers. Requirements: ALA/MLS. At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in library work, including two years in the supervision of a Children's library department. 37.5 hours per week; regular night and Saturday rotation; salary dependent on qualifications.
