Assistant Head, Children's Services - Come join an exciting and energized Children's Services Team. Russell Library (Middletown, CT) needs an Assistant Head, Children's Services Librarian. You will be actively assisting in the management, marketing and oversight of a very busy, community-centered, children's services department. Applicants must have a Master's Degree in Library Science, with at least four years of progressively responsible professional and supervisory experience in a library setting. Excellent backgrounds in children's literature, child development & child life studies are required. Word & Excel are a must. Strong supervisory skills and outreach experience are necessary. Outreach to schools, day care centers and community groups, plus in-library programming are all part of the work day. A genuine avocation to work with children of all ages is essential.
