Head, Technology Services - Russell Library, Middletown. The Challenge: Unite modern technology and traditional technical services in support of excellent library service! Russell Library seeks an innovative professional for the position of Head of Technology Services. The department head plans and manages in-library technology, networking, and telecommunications and oversees cataloging, acquisitions, and materials processing functions. She or he must be up-to-date on technological trends and work with other staff in setting technology goals, carrying out priority projects, and reporting progress. Duties include writing specifications, training staff, maintaining the network, and purchasing computer hardware, software and peripherals. Applicants must have an M.L.S. and 5 years progressively responsible experience in library work, including 3 years in the lead position of a department; OR a comparable combination of computer science education and library technology experience.
