Adjunct Instructors, Information Literacy - Sacred Heart University

Adjunct Instructors, Information Literacy - Sacred Heart University's Ryan-Matura Library seeks adjunct instructors to teach sections of a one-credit course, Introductory Information Literacy, IL 101, for the Fall 2008 and/or Spring 2009 semesters. IL101 is a required competency under the University's new core curriculum. Responsibilities include: Teaching IL 101, a general education course focusing on the access, retrieval, evaluation and management of information. It includes a basic introduction to online catalogs, print sources, electronic resources including the Internet and the library's suite of research databases, academic integrity and citation style formats. All course materials: syllabus, examinations, homework assignments and final project, have been designed and tested. Instructors will be thoroughly oriented and provided instruction in the use of the Blackboard classroom support system. Qualifications: Certified Library Media Specialist or MLS is required. Experience in classroom instruction is highly desirable. Review of applications will begin immediately.
