Technical and User Services Supervisor - University of Bridgeport

Technical and User Services Supervisor - University of Bridgeport. Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, the Technical and User Services Supervisor supplies vision and effective operational leadership for circulation, reserves, acquistions, cataloging/metadata, interlibrary loan and serials management functions. Will work closely with the Associate University Librarian on collection development and perform all acquisition functions. Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining the forward direction of current systems, and planning for the future especially in interlibrary loan, circulation and reserves. Provides research information and management reports to the Associate University Librarian to assist in decision making. Performs all acquisition functions for Library materials, including ordering, purchasing, licensing and financial tracking. Supervises staff and student workers in Technical and User services. Works closely with the Associate University Librarian and faculty on collection development policies and procedures. Ensures work group policies and procedures are compliant with Library requirements and are kept up to date. Perform other work related duties as assigned by the Director. Qualifications: Master's degree in Library or Information Science required plus three years of progressive management experience in an Academic Library. Must have proven supervisory experience and demonstrate and understanding and proficiency in broad Library Science concepts and current techniques. Knowledge and experience in User and Technical services functions and library systems. Experience in ExLibris/Voyager, OCLC and Docline systems is a plus. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting to groups. Must be able to work in a team environment, be flexible and have the ability to acquire new skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled.
