Elementary Library-Media Specialist - The Hamden Public Schools' Board of Education has an opening for an elementary library-media specialist, effective August 22, 2007.
The opening is for a K-6 elementary school with approximately 500 students. A successful library media specialist candidate should have good technology skills, be able to administer a flexibly-scheduled library-media program including teaching information and technology skills, and be able to work with classroom teachers to support curriculum and technology initiatives. You would be part of a supportive library-media department in a district with growing technology resources. A Macintosh background is helpful, but not required. Candidates should have their CT school library media specialist certification completed. Salary and benefits are based on the district's teacher's contract, and falls within the guidelines of the CLA salary range (unless the candidate is on Step 1 or 2, with no or one year of teaching experience). Please submit a letter, resume and references, immediately, to Ann Lucarelli, Personnel, Hamden Public Schools, 60 Putnam Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517, and email the department curriculum leader, Jackie Church, at jchurch@hamden.org.
