Children's Services Reference Librarian

Fairfield Public Library. Dream, Discover, Innovate, Create @ Fairfield Public Library.  Are you a dreamer, an idea person, or a discoverer of fun and unique experiences?  Fairfield Public Library is looking for you.  We'd like you to provide excellent service to our youngest library lovers as well as their caretakers and related community partners.  We'd like you to enhance and maintain specific collections both physical and digital along with contributing to blogs, social media, and reading lists.  We'd like you to provide outstanding children's programming that will surprise and delight the attendees and we'd like you to participate in community outreach to actively promote the library and children's services.  As part of the children's team you will have the opportunity, at times, to develop and implement programs at Fairfield Woods Branch, a neighborhood library that is always filled with creative ideas.  As part of the children's team your days will be filled with inspiration, collaboration and fun.  This position requires an MLS from an ALA accredited university along with 1-2 years' experience working as a professional librarian, particularly in Children's Services including familiarity with technology and readers' advisory.  This is a 35 hour a week position which includes one evening a week and one Saturday a month.  Salary: $54,744.  Please submit a cover letter and resume to Karen Ronald, Town Librarian, kronald@fplct.org<mailto:kronald@fplct.org> by January 22,2016.
