Teen Services and Makerspace Manager - Wilton Library Association, CT

Teen Services and Makerspace Manager - Wilton Library Association, Inc., a non-profit organization, seeks an experienced, forward-thinking Teen Services and Makerspace Manager. Teen Services Manager responsibilities include maintaining the teen materials collection, providing patron services to teens and parents, and facilitating traditional and innovative programs. Innovation Station Manager responsibilities include coordinating STEAM program, researching new technologies, designing new STEM initiatives, developing training classes and schedules for staff and volunteers, contracting appropriate services to enhance the library’s offerings, planning and coordinating STEAM events. This position also includes mentoring and coordinating the activities of our award-winning teen Robotics Team.
     Qualifications: Knowledge of teen literature and library services. Proficiency in the use of current/emerging makerspace technology applications and equipment, such as 3D printing, 3D design, Arduino / coding, scanning and image editing. Proven ability to design, assess, and manage STEAM programs. Exceptional digital literacy, computer software, database research skills and familiarity with teaching strategies to support engaged learning and community-driven initiatives. Position also requires active engagement with Wilton public school librarians and teachers. Demonstrated attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to interact with staff, volunteers, and patrons in a collaborative environment. Proven knowledge of budgeting and demonstrated management skills.
     Education and Training Required: Holds a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited university or college. Has previous library experience in children’s or teens’ services. Library, school, or nonprofit experience focused on an area of STEM educational programming is highly desirable. Must enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities. Remains abreast of developments in the library profession and Maker movement. Full-time position with benefits. Must be available evenings and weekends as necessary. Salary commensurate with experience.
