Vice President for Libraries and Information Technology Services - Trinity College, Hartford

Vice President for Libraries and Information Technology Services - Trinity College, the highly selective, independent, nonsectarian, liberal arts institution in Hartford, Connecticut, seeks a forward-thinking and collaborative Vice President for Libraries and Information Technology Services. This is a crucial position: the Vice President oversees information strategy for the institution and leads a merged Libraries and Information Technology Services (LITS) organization that touches and serves every office and constituency on campus. As a thought partner to the President, senior administration, faculty, and staff, the Vice President will ensure that the work of Library and Information Technology Services strengthens and enhances all aspects of Trinity's educational enterprise, inside and outside the classroom.
Trinity College is committed to providing an educational experience that is relevant and timeless: it prepares students for lives of thinking and doing, boldness, and impact. Its liberal arts curriculum, dedicated faculty, and small classes ensure an intense and demanding academic experience; its location in Hartford provides meaningful curricular and co-curricular opportunities for engagement with the city. Over 2,000 full-time undergraduate students and nearly 100 graduate students, over 200 faculty, and 480 staff make up the campus community. The College claims over 29,000 alumni around the globe.
Reporting directly to the President and serving on her cabinet, the Vice President will lead the division of Library and Information Technology Services, which includes professionals in Collections/Access Services, Enterprise Applications, Research/Instruction/Technology, Technology Infrastructure, the Watkinson Special Collections/College Archives, and Web Services. The Vice President will bring a deep and expansive sense of technology, information, and data as drivers and instruments of excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship, and student success. Building institutional vision and capacity for digital transformation, championing partnership, and fostering an explicitly strategic and innovative posture with respect to information and data will be key.
The successful candidate will be an energetic leader and outstanding manager with a record of working effectively in settings that are fast-paced, ambitious, and highly consultative. As a leader at the institution, the Vice President must evince a demonstrated record of success in strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion. Deep knowledge of technology issues, the work and requirements of high-quality academic libraries, and understanding of the power of data and analytics are required.
