Teen and Reference Librarian – Revised posting. The Mark Twain Library
in Redding has an opportunity for a Teen and Reference Librarian. This
is an opportunity to share your creative side, take responsibility for
teen programming and work in a vibrant community. If you are able to
work flexible hours, take the initiative to develop teen programs and
are comfortable working with tweens and teens as well as their parents
and teachers, this is the right opportunity for you. You should be
enthusiastic about creating programs that will appeal to these age
groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in young adult
literature and social trends as well as an interest in and aptitude for
social media and new technologies. In addition, this position will
require spending time at the general reference desk (approximately 6
hours per week). Ability to be flexible with scheduled hours is
important as some evenings and weekend hours will be required.
Qualifications: Masters in Library Science or close to completion of a
Masters in Library Science or related degree. Experience working with

This is a 30 hour per week position at a starting salary of $42,500.
Prorated paid vacation and holidays are provided after six month
service. There are no medical or retirement benefits. Application
