Computer Lab Assistant

The West Hartford Library is seeking tech-savvy individuals to staff our busy computer lab at our main library. This position has flexible hours and is great for college students!  As a computer lab assistant you will: Help users log onto computers using the library’s print/time management system (Pharos) Answer basic computer questions. Assist others in using the eighteen Windows computers, three printers, and an all-in-one scanning station in the lab. Add funds for printing documents. Help users scan and print documents. Qualifications: Good communication skills and a welcoming attitude are essential as this position works very closely with our patrons.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.  Knowledge of Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.  Ability to learn a print/time management system, to add money to patron’s accounts, to reprint jammed print jobs, to extend time on computers.  Ability to clearly answer basic computer questions. High School diploma or GED; prefer some college; prefer customer service background. Some flexibility to change schedule when coverage is needed Beginning salary: $10.78 hourly.10-14 hours per week with additional hours possible when covering for other lab attendants who can’t make a shift.  Coverage mostly needed for afternoons and nights. Send resume & list of days/times you are available to:Andrew Bosworth, Head of Technical Services abosworth@westhartfordct.gov
