Norwalk, CT - Full Time Anticipated Starting Date: August 7, 2015
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science
and one (1) year experience as a professional librarian required.
Additional experience as a professional librarian and experience in
leading or supervising others preferred. Reference experience should
include knowledge electronic (databases, e-books, Internet) and print
resources; strong reference skills; good communication and interpersonal
skills; and the ability to establish professional and respectful
relationships with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and
public. Teaching experience in library instruction and information
literacy is preferred. Ability to converse in Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Library
Services, the Reference/Instruction Librarian performs a full range of
professional responsibilities including reference services, library
instruction, collection development, creating and updating LibGuides,
faculty liaison, teaching students and faculty in the use of library
resources and research methodology. Other library responsibilities maybe
assigned as needed. Evening and Saturday hours may be assigned.
