Circulation Assistant - Chester Public Library
seeks a friendly, service oriented individual with strong interpersonal
skills to provide high quality service to library users. Candidate must
be able to juggle priorities, work independently, attend to detail, and
be a welcoming presence in the library. Duties: The Circulation
Assistant performs a variety of circulation and clerical tasks related
to the operation of this small community library. The Circulation
Assistant will check materials in/out, answer or refer reference
questions, answer phone, shelve library materials, register new patrons,
manage overdues, help patrons use library equipment and online catalog,
perform data entry, open and close the library. Qualifications: Ability
to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Ability to learn automated library system. Ability to climb stairs while
carrying library materials. Familiarity with online research
procedures and basic computer applications is strongly preferred.
Library or related experience is a plus. Ability to work regular
Saturday and evening hours with flexibility to work at other times is
essential. Hours and Compensation: 15 hours per week at $12.00 per hour.
