Reference Librarian - Wesleyan University

Reference Librarian - (18-month position), Wesleyan University Library, Middletown, Connecticut. DUTIES: Reporting to the Head of Reference, the person in this position will provide general reference and research services in Olin Library, answering general reference and research questions at the Olin Library Reference Desk. They may also lead some classroom library instruction sessions and conduct individual research sessions with students. The person should have experience working effectively with print and online reference resources. There will be occasional evening or weekend hours at the Olin Reference Desk, and some special projects as assigned. The person in this position will work 23 hours a week, and the position ends on May 15, 2013. QUAL: Minimum qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree in library studies; 3-5 years of library reference experience in an academic library. Knowledge of online and print reference sources in the social sciences and humanities. Ability to work collegially with a diverse group of undergraduate students, faculty, and library staff. Preferred qualifications: Undergraduate or additional graduate degree in a social sciences discipline. Cataloging experience a plus.
