Library Services Assistant I - Lincoln College of New England, Hartford Campus. Under the supervision of the Director of Library Services, the Library Assistant I provides support in routine library services. Duties include circulation, answering telephone, assistance with general reference (print and electronic resources) and computer lab operations, acquisitions support, and shelving library materials. Education and training: bachelor’s degree and some experience in using libraries. Preferred: one year of library work experience. Knowledge, skills and abilities: very good command of the English language; ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction, and to communicate effectively; ability to function independently and in a team environment, be detail-oriented. Familiarity with basic computer applications. Must be able to push loaded book trucks, lift packages and/or books, use step stools, stand/walk for extended periods of time. Preferred: knowledge of various computer programs and online databases. Some knowledge of library clerical procedures and practices a plus. Hours: 4-8:30PM Monday-Thursday. $12 per hour.
