Assistant Library Director - Prospect Public Library

Assistant Library Director - Full time (40 hours). Prospect Public Library. Responsible for the scope, vision and operation of the Children’s department including outreach programs for children, young adults and adults. Other responsibilities include providing reference services and assisting patrons in the use of library databases, supervising library personnel, ordering and processing of materials, compiling statistics, and other tasks as determined by the Director. Candidate must have experience working with children’s library and/or educational services. Expertise with library reference materials (print and online), computer technology, online circulation systems, and excellent administrative, supervisory, planning and organizational skills are required. Candidate must have MLS degree from an ALA accredited library school and three years of supervisory experience. Salary range is $38,000 to $38,500.
