Head, Information Services Department - Russell Library. Winner of the 2009 Connecticut Award for Excellence in Public Library Service, Russell Library (Middletown, CT) seeks a “tech savvy” library professional with expertise in supervision and budget management, a demonstrated commitment to teamwork, and excellent reference skills to head its Information Services Department. The Head of Information Services manages reference and adult services functions, including oversight of 30 public access computers, outreach to older adults, and special job, career and business services. In our vibrant location in the heart of the city, we serve a diverse population with a wide variety of informational needs. We seek a proven team leader who can apply current and emerging technologies, as well as traditional resources, to our informational services. The successful candidate must have an M.L.S. and 5 years progressively responsible experience in library work, including 3 years in a lead position in a library department.
