Shipping Clerk - Connecticut Humanities Council

Shipping Clerk - Connecticut Humanities Council. Part time, 20 hours per week. The shipping clerk provides shipping services to the CHC, mostly in the reading department. S/he packs and ships books for the Council’s reading programs, returns books to inventory when received from program sites, and organizes and maintains the Council’s book library. Job Qualifications: High school diploma required; some college preferred. Able to use hand truck; able to lift and carry boxes of books up to 50 lbs. Able to pack and repack boxes of books alphabetically by series title; also weigh and ship books and project materials. Must move, store, and arrange books neatly in storage areas. Strong computer skills, literate with databases, email, Internet, Word and spreadsheets. Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read. Team player and the ability to work well with vendors, constituents, and staff. Able to handle other duties for CHC as applicable to shipping and receiving.
