Programmer II - Are you looking to put your library training and experience with children to work in a challenging and exciting children’s programming environment? If so, the Farmington Libraries are seeking a part-time Programmer II to join our creative and dynamic Children’s Services team. The successful candidate will develop and present exceptional programming for children from birth to 12, assist ordering various materials, answer reference questions, advise readers, visit schools, and help resolve routine computer questions. Education and experiences required include: High school diploma, Bachelors degree preferred, knowledge of children’s literature, successful library programming, understanding of child development, and computer literacy. We are looking for a programmer with the savvy and flexibility to work with children and their parents in a fast paced multicultural environment. You must have a good sense of humor, solid organizational skills, a positive attitude, patience, and a strong sense of customer service. This year-round twenty-five hour a week position has a varied schedule of days, evenings and week-ends on a rotating basis. Benefits include Social Security, vacation, sick time and holidays.
