Library Technical Assistant - Research Library at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center seeks a part-time Library Technical Assistant (32 hours per week, Wed. thru Sat., with benefits). The Research Library is a special library, dedicated to supporting research on Native American history and culture. JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Reference/Information Technology Librarian, the incumbent assists with daily library operations and special projects. Performs data entry using library databases, physically processes new acquisitions, assists with bindery preparation, shelves and retrieves library books using Library of Congress classification, provides coverage at public service desk and other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree in Library Technical Assistance or at least two years of library experience. Above average computer skills (Windows XP) essential. Experience with OCLC and at least one integrated library system, preferably Voyager, highly desirable. Excellent keyboarding and communication skills, both written and oral.
