Children's Librarian - Darien Library. An exceptional opportunity for the exceptional candidate! The innovative Darien (CT) Library - one of the busiest and best public libraries of its size in the country - seeks a creative, dynamic professional librarian to become a member of the Children's Services team. The successful candidate will have an MLS degree or other commensurate background in Early Childhood Education and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and technology skills, as well as knowledge of children's literature and online resources. The position requires conducting programs, providing reader and reference services, and participating in outreach to the community. The Darien Library has been continually ranked by HAPLR as one of the top ten libraries in the country for its services and programs. This position is open at an exciting time as the Library embarks on a new building project. The new Children's Library will be 5,500 sq. ft. and include a Children's Technology Center, Storytime Area, Infant/Toddler Room, and a collection of over 60,000 items.
