Children's/Young Adult Librarian - New Milford Public Library

Children's/Young Adult Librarian - Full Time. New Milford Public Library seeks a highly motivated, creative, enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children from birth to Grade 8, with focus on Grades 6-8. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, like working as part of a team, extensive knowledge of children/YA literature, strong reference and reader's advisory skills and experience creating and executing children's programs. This position requires contact and outreach to schools and other organizations that service children. Qualifications: MLS or MLS candidate (ALA-accredited school), experience working with children of all ages, particularly Young Adults. Position is 40 hours per week; includes one evening per week, one Saturday and Sunday per month. Salary: $40,200 per year plus benefits package.
