Consumer Health LibrarianGreenwich Hospital Medical Library. JOB SUMMARY: Serves the health information needs of the patients, family, and caregivers of the Greenwich Hospital (CT) community. Develops, coordinates, and implements health literacy/consumer health information programs and outreach to the Greenwich community. Serves as a health information advocate for consumers and the health care professionals who serve them. Creates an environment where diverse health information needs are met in a timely and confidential manner. Assists and supports the Director of Library Services in achieving the Library’s goals and objectives. Ability to understand and work within the corporate culture of the institution. Major Activities: Collection Management; Knowledge and Resource Sharing; Patient Advocacy; Information Dissemination; and Consumer Health Education. This is a full-time salaried position (37.5 hours per week) with full benefits. Eligibility and requirements: Master’s In Library Science; MLA Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) Level I or II preferred; Minimum of one year’s experience; Strong computer skills; Ability to organize/produce consumer health literacy workshops; Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; Excellent teaching/presentation skills; Detailed oriented; Fluency in Spanish desired, but not required.
