Academic Systems Librarian

The Hoffman Family Library at Goodwin College is seeking a full-time systems librarian who reports to the Library Director. This librarian will support the educational needs of the programs of study in  general education; health and natural sciences; social science, business, education and manufacturing; and nursing. Responsibilities: Manage the library information technology services including the web page, integrated library system, and online resources (research databases, discovery service, and institutional repository)Extract and prepares relevant data for collection development, year-end statistics, and administrative reportsServe as advisor to the director of library services regarding relevant information technology developments, policies, security and management issues, and resource needsShare in other library functions, such as reference and information literacy instructionRepresent the library in meetings, campus committees, and professional organizations. Skills: Administering and working with library automated systems software and operations . Web: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL. Cataloging: MARC, RDA. Teaching and/or library instruction.  Knowledge of current library standards and practices in areas of circulation, interlibrary loan, and patron privacy. Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited institution and some integrated library management system and website design experience, preferably in an academic library setting. Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
