Library Aide I: Circulation (Scheduled 8-Hour Position and Substitute Hours Available) - The Canton Public Library
is seeking a pleasant, customer service-oriented self-starter to join
the staff of our friendly community library. A part-time position of 8
hours per week is available, as are additional sub hours. The scheduled
hours are Monday and Wednesday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The rate of pay is
$14.05 hourly. Responsibilities of the position include: Charges and
discharges library materials; Answers phones and routes calls; Collects
fines and other payments; Issues new library cards; Explains library
policies and procedures; Assists patrons in the use of library
equipment, such as self-checkout station, computers, catalog, or copier;
Answers basic information questions. Must have excellent communication
and customer service skills. Must be a reader. Experience with
technology, such as Microsoft Office, digital photography, internet
searching, social media, and the use of devices such as MP3 players and
tablets, is strongly preferred. Previous library experience and a
college degree are also preferred. Town of Canton employment
