Job Description:
- Leverages emerging technologies to deliver new information sources and innovative solutions to library users
- Identifies, evaluates, and integrates emerging technologies which enhance library services, programs, and user experiences
- Develops and maintains internal and outward-facing library guides related to library information technology, generative artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies
- Compiles reports on new information sources, artificial intelligence, and research tools
- Provides traditional and virtual reference and research assistance to the university community
- In the absence of a full-time librarian, may supervise library student employees
- Maintain an awareness of new literature, technologies, trends and advances in the profession
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Reference & Business Research Librarian
- Must be willing to work holidays, evenings, and weekends
Required Qualifications:
- ALA accredited Master’s degree
- Knowledge of cataloging standards and bibliographic utilities
- Knowledge of mark-up languages and website design
- Experience with office suites/productivity software (eg. Adobe Creative Cloud, Office 365)
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior professional experience in an academic library setting providing reference and instruction
- Experience with Springshare software for the creation of LibGuides and online tutorials
- Experience with screen-casting and video editing software
- Fluency in library, instructional, and educational technologies, including learning management systems like Blackboard
Hours & Compensation: This is a part-time, AAUP Faculty position (19 hours per week). Pay starts at $49.22/hr. Some evenings and weekends required.
