PURPOSE: The Head of Systems and Technology for UConn Health Sciences Library provides innovative leadership, management and expertise to maintain library systems and services including an integrated library system, library website, access to electronic resources, print management system, computers and other relevant library systems and technologies. Demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering growth and development in others and enthusiasm for learning opportunities and a willingness to embrace challenges.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with an hour unpaid meal break
General Experience: A Master's degree in library science from a school accredited by the American Library Association, plus four (4) years of professional library experience in an academic or health science setting, in increasing responsible positions. Two (2) years of the General Experience must have be in technical library supervision/administration at or above the level of Librarian 3.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years experience in an academic library. Two years of experience in academic library management and two years at or above the level of Librarian 3 at an academic or health sciences library. Experience with library systems, library server ad desktop applications. Experience in web design ad technology. Familiarity with database development and administration. Knowledge of operating systems. Experience in systems/programs/web development, including programming (API, Java) and design, testing, implementation.
