Wilton Library is seeking an experienced part-time adult reference librarian who will become part of a team to respond to the needs of the community. Responsibilities include providing exemplary customer service to patrons, which may entail instruction on digital offerings and readers’ advisory services.
Qualifications: Knowledge of literature and library services. Proficiency in the use of current and emerging technology. Knowledge of Polaris ILS system and Library Calendar a plus. Exceptional digital literacy, computer software and database research skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to interact with staff and patrons in a collaborative environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends with short notice is preferable.
Education and Training Required: Holds a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited institution. Must enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities. Part-time position averaging 8-10 hours per week, plus one Sunday every other month. Schedule will include regular hours as well as substitute hours. This position pays $33.00/hour.
