The Scoville Memorial Library in Salisbury, CT, is seeking a Children’s Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement innovative programs and services that inspire children to explore the world through books and imagination.
Responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging children's programs, including story times, book clubs, crafts, and educational activities. Select and maintain a diverse and age-appropriate collection of children's materials. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community partners to promote literacy and learning. Provide reference, research, and reader’s advisory assistance to a sophisticated community of young readers and their families. Create and maintain a welcoming and stimulating environment for children.
Qualifications: A degree in Library Science, education, early childhood development, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with children ages birth through 12 years old. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Passion for children's literature and literacy. Valid driver’s license.
Schedule: This is a full-time, 30-35 hour per week position, with some evenings and weekends required.
Compensation & Benefits: The hiring salary range is $50,000-$55,000 per year, commensurate with experience, with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.
