Research Services Librarian (3 Openings) – UConn Library, Storrs

JOB SUMMARY: The UConn Library seeks three collaborative and proactive librarians to serve as Research Services Librarians in natural, environmental, and life sciences; health sciences; and psychological and health sciences subject areas. Reporting to the Head of Research Services, Research Services Librarians connect UConn Library collections and services to UConn students, faculty, and staff in support of research, scholarship, teaching, and learning. Research Services Librarians proactively engage with students, faculty, colleagues, and other stakeholders and contribute to the advancement of the UConn Library through collaboration on Library-wide initiatives in support of life-transformative education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Librarian 1 Only: (1) A graduate-level degree in a field relevant to the position or a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited institution (or an international equivalent). (2) Knowledge of research and information resources in the sciences. (3) Knowledge of information literacy and teaching principles and ability to provide information literacy instruction. (4) Ability to make a positive contribution to a culture of inclusion and respect. (5) Ability to be successful in outreach and engagement efforts. (6) Ability to align current library tools and services to support learning, research, publications, and scholarship among stakeholders. (7) Demonstrated public service skills and a strong commitment to customer service. (8) Reliable, effective, and professional interpersonal and communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Librarian 2 (in addition to the above): (1) Minimum of three years post-graduate related professional experience. (2) Success in establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships. (3) Evidence of active engagement with professional activities at a statewide, regional, and/or national level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS for both: (1) Knowledge of scholarly communication ecosystems. (2) Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. (3) Advanced knowledge of and evidence of commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice. (4) Evidence of a commitment to professional development and continual learning. APPOINTMENT TERMS: These three openings are full-time, primarily onsite, hybrid optional positions based on the UConn Storrs campus. Work schedules are considered in accordance with University Alternate Work Arrangements policies and procedures.
