Level: Community College Professional 18, 12-month, tenure track position.

Position Summary: The Librarian performs a broad range of professional responsibilities of librarianship in the library or learning resource center of a Community College providing library services to students, faculty and citizens of the communities served by the College. These professional responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum including: reference services; online, original and copy cataloging; inter-library loan management; collection development; circulation management; acquisitions; and teaching students and faculty in the use of such library resources as on-line access to information, bibliographic search, access to print materials and methods of research for academic course materials. In addition, the library relies to an increasing extent on computer-based information technology. Therefore, the Librarian may be assigned to provide professional information technology services.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science with one (1) or more years of related experience including up to two (2) years of experience in leading or supervising others; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following: Full range of professional librarianship with strong competencies in public services, reference, technical services, collection development. Information technology and information literacy skills. Instruction in effective use of library resources in a higher education environment. Leading and training support staff.

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of related experience with library technology. Experience with library integrated systems management and staff training. Experience with library instruction design and assessment. Experience with planning and hosting digital outreach initiatives.
Starting Salary: Anticipated Salary $72,784 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
