Adult and Technology Services Librarian - Hall Memorial Library, Ellington

The Hall Memorial Library in Ellington seeks an enthusiastic, energetic, community-oriented individual to serve as the Adult and Technology Services Librarian. The ideal candidate will plan and implement a regular schedule of activities and events for adults, including participatory workshops, educational lectures, and arts and cultural experiences; create positive library experiences by providing reference, reader’s advisory and technology assistance; manage digital materials and databases; manage the website and digital newsletter. This person will develop and grow existing partnerships with town agencies and community groups to promote and support services that meet the current and emerging needs of the community and the Library; develop and maintain nontraditional collections appropriate for diverse populations; and communicate effectively with both staff and the public.

This person should have excellent customer service skills, strong communication and supervisory abilities, the ability to work with a diverse group of people, the ability to use a wide variety of technology, an innovative outlook and positive attitude, and will be passionate about the work they do and the community they work in. A Masters of Library Science Degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of professional library work and experience in programming for adults.

This is a full-time 35 hrs/week position with a benefit package and starting hourly rate of $32.00. Schedule includes day and evening hours, and weekend hours on a rotating schedule, with shifts at all service desks.
