About Dutchess Community College:
The Ritz Library supports research and information literacy across all
departments at Dutchess Community College. The collection includes
approximately 90,000 books, more than 250,000 ebooks, and millions of
articles through more than 100 databases. The library also houses the
DCC Archives. The Ritz Library is part of the Learning Commons. The
Learning Commons provides academic support to students that facilitates
deep engagement with learning materials and promotes an appreciation for
curiosity, discovery, exploration, and growth. The Learning Commons
currently includes the Ritz Library, the Math & Science Center, the
Writing Center, the Office of Accommodative Services, the Testing
Center, Content Tutoring, and the Collegiate Science and Technology
Entry Program (CSTEP).
Job Description: The
Director of the Library reports to the Associate Dean for Instruction
& Learning for the Learning Commons, and is directly responsible for
the administration of library services and supervision of library
staff. The Director provides leadership, supervision and strategic
direction in the development and maintenance of resources, programming,
collections, and archives to support teaching and learning both on
campus and through remote learning.

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Library and Information Science, accredited by the American Library Association. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in an academic library with at least two years in a supervisory, administrative capacity. Ability to work with a diverse population in a supportive and professional manner. Knowledge of current and emerging concepts, principles, technology, and practices needed to successfully operate an academic library for a community college. Leadership skills, including problem-solving, efficient decision making, and effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Alma and Primo VE, an Ex Libris Library Services Platform. Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER). Experience working with a Learning Commons.
Additional Information: Academic support positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Dutchess Community College and Dutchess United Educators (DUE).
Salary Range: $82,064 - $93,278 (Group 3)
