General Statement of Duties: Provides technical support to the public relations team in the creation of content for library programs, services, and collections. Reports to the Public Relations Officer.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field, plus two (2) years of experience in public relations, marketing, or related field.
Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of public relations, communications and marketing. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated understanding of the research process and the ability to write a short synopsis of a given topic. Demonstrated proficiency with cloud-based social media tools, photo/video editing, and graphic design. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and in the use of audiovisual equipment, social media platforms, and other industry-related software. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with library staff, patrons, and community groups. Demonstrated supervisory skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
