Adult Programming Associate - Wilton Library

Wilton Library seeks a dynamic and community-focused individual with strong organizational, communication, and technology skills to join our staff as a full-time Adult Programming Associate. The ideal candidate is forward-looking and excited by the full range of possibilities for adult programming. With a strong attention to detail, and flexible and responsive to the needs at hand, the ideal candidate manages multiple projects and competing demands and works effectively under pressure.

The Adult Programming team works together to deliver high-quality, diverse, and relevant programs, which reflect the library’s mission to inform, enrich, connect, and inspire every day. A collaborative attitude is essential as well as the ability to focus on independent tasks and projects.

Reporting to the Head of Adult Programming, the Adult Programming Associate will be fully engaged in all aspects of executing our ambitious programs vision - from proposing new initiatives to working with co-sponsors and community leaders to planning and hosting our events.

Summary of Responsibilities: Initiates, plans, schedules, and runs a full range of educational, enrichment, and entertainment programs for adults at the library, virtually and occasionally offsite.

Education and Skills Required: Holds a BA/BS from an accredited college/university or an MLS from an accredited program [or substantial course completion toward the degree] and 1-3 years of programming and event planning experience. Graphic design experience a plus. Is actively interested in current events, the arts, literature, music, and science/technology as well as parenting, health/wellness and self-study topics. Exhibits a proven ability to interact with the public, has excellent organizational, project management, technology, and interpersonal skills.

Experience and demonstrated competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to operate general office equipment and communications equipment.

This is a full-time, in-person, non-exempt position (35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed) with benefits. Salary: $60,000.
