The Burlington Public Library is looking for a Children’s and Teen Assistant Librarian to join our team! The Children and Teen Assistant Librarian is responsible for planning and administering programs and outreach for the Teen department as well as some children’s programs. Responsibilities also include creating displays in the Teen and Middle School departments, assisting patrons both at the Teen desk and at the Circulation desk and collaborating with other staff members to publicize and promote the library.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in planning programs, embrace creativity and enjoy working as a team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to promote a positive library experience so excellent customer service is a must. We also encourage ongoing learning and development and support opportunities for staff to attend webinars and trainings relevant to their position.

Qualifications:
MLS from an accredited institution preferred or a Bachelor’s degree
from an accredited college and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of Young Adult literature
and trends. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work
independently
as well as collaborate with others. Comfortable with technology
including a familiarity with different social media and graphic design
platforms.
