Post
University is seeking a Digital Services and Research Librarian
(Full-Time) to work in the main campus library to serve the needs of
students, faculty, and staff. This position is located on the main
campus of Post University in Waterbury, CT and is NOT a remote position.
JOB SUMMARY: Assisting with reference service, reference
development and maintenance, database and Internet searching, and
bibliographic instruction. Interacting and collaborating with various
departments across campus to improve the library’s support of learning
across the institution. Maintaining usage statistics of library
resources and services, aided by student assistants when available.
Assisting in collection development decisions concerning library
materials and course materials selections. Updating pertinent
bibliographies and creating library guides, tutorials, and other
materials to support library use. Cataloging new materials. Acting as
Library Liaison to the Accelerated Degree program, the MBA program, and
the First Year Experience sequence. Promoting resources and services on
the library’s social media platforms. Providing research, support, and
technology expertise to Instructional Design projects and developments
and other digital initiatives. Communicating with all stakeholders
during projects involving digital content and course materials.
Assisting faculty and staff with finding, evaluating, and using digital
content. Assisting students, faculty & staff with technical,
intellectual, and educational issues regarding digital content, learning
and research. Collaborating with other library staff to develop,
implement, and manage the library’s digital space housing digital
learning materials and content collection. Preparing educational
materials regarding digital content, including copyright and
intellectual property rights. Collecting analytics (when and where
available) on ECM requests, implementation, troubleshooting, efficacy,
material retention, etc. Assisting with the technical and intellectual
aspects of integration of digital content into university platforms and
publications, as needed. Participating in professional library
organizations and networks. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: A Master’s degree in library or information
science from an American Library Association-accredited college is
required. Two years of experience in an academic library is required.
Reference and/or technical experience required. At least two years of
working with digital research are required. Faculty collaborative
experiences in a higher education setting are preferred. Information
literacy instruction experience preferred. Working knowledge of
Microsoft Office, multi-media applications, EBSCOhost, and ProQuest
Central is required; other database knowledge is desirable. Ability to
demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of a diverse population.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess
excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter
with the ability to balance priorities.
