Due to an upcoming leave, Thomaston Public Library seeks 2 library assistants, based in the children’s department but with some hours at adult desk. The positions are for 19 hours a week at $15 an hour (beginning approximately August 15) for about 8 weeks. Possibility of extension to permanent, part-time position in the fall. Each position includes 1 or 2 nights a week and every other Saturday after Labor Day.
Experience in a public library or educational environment is preferred. Requirements include: excellent customer service skills, competent computer skills, and the ability to uphold and explain library policies, goals, and services.
