The
West Hartford Public Library seeks a creative, tech-savvy Library
Specialist to manage Studio 20 South, our brand-new digital makerspace.
Overseeing a team of part-time studio assistants, the Studio Coordinator
instructs patrons and staff in the use of equipment and technology in
the Studio, including but not limited to video and audio production,
digitization equipment, 3-D printers, vinyl cutters, and VR equipment.
Responsibilities include scheduling patron appointments, instructing
staff and patrons on using equipment, designing and implementing
programs in the Studio, troubleshooting equipment and software issues,
and providing excellent customer service and technical assistance to
library patrons. Candidates must be able to work both independently and
collaboratively with a small team. The ideal candidate will be
proficient in audio and video production and 3D printing, as well as in a
variety of software and hardware, including Apple products and Adobe
Creative Cloud. Additionally, candidates should be eager to learn
emerging technologies and recommend new equipment and services.
Candidates must be available to work day, evening and occasional weekend
shifts. Sick leave is provided consistent with State of Connecticut
Regulations, but there are no other benefits associated with this
position.
Reports to the IT Librarian.
Salary: $30.33/hr. Expected schedule 18 hours per week.
