The
Town of Plainville is currently seeking a full-time Head of Youth
Services in the Plainville Public Library. This position is a full-time,
non-union position with a 35 hours per week work schedule, including
one weekly evening shift, and one weekend shift per month from September
through June. Salary negotiable from $55K/year, commensurate with
experience; generous benefits package.
Duties for this position
include training, supervising, and scheduling Youth Services Department
staff; planning, overseeing, and implementing programs, events, and
storytimes for children and teens; managing the budget for the Youth
Services Department; overseeing the collection and management of
materials for children and teens; providing reference services;
administering publicity and public relations; monthly reporting on
department activity; and library outreach.
Qualifications
include master’s degree in library and information studies (MLS/MLIS)
from an ALA-accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of
experience in professional library work and at least two years (2) of
supervisory experience. Please do not apply without these
