The
West Hartford Public Library, located in a vibrant and engaged
community that celebrates diversity and maintains a welcoming atmosphere
to all visitors, seeks an enthusiastic and energetic library
professional with excellent interpersonal skills to assume substitute
shifts primarily evenings and weekends in Children’s Services at all
three of our library buildings. This position requires a thorough and
current knowledge of children’s literature and a proficiency in
performing reader’s advisory and reference services to a sophisticated
community of young readers ages infant through twelve years of age.
Minimum requirements:
Candidates must hold an MLS degree from an ALA accredited university
and a minimum of one year’s experience working as a children’s
librarian.
Salary: $35.18/hour Sick Leave is
provided consistent with State of Connecticut regulations, but there are
no other benefits associated with this position.
