The
Gunn Museum in Washington, Connecticut is seeking a talented and
motivated part-time Assistant to provide administrative support to the
Curator. The Assistant will be responsible for managing the successful
day-to-day operations of the museum. Primary responsibilities include:
office administration, membership management, press, marketing, program
registration, newsletter writing and publishing, fundraiser
coordination, scheduling, phone calls, merchandise management, event
assistance, visitor services, volunteer coordination and additional
duties as required. Prior office management experience with a
demonstrated appreciation and understanding of museums and history is
important. The applicant must be personable, detail- oriented, have
strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask
and work effectively as a team, and be willing to make a long-term
commitment to the position. Solid computer skills are required
including: Constant Contact, Eventbrite, WordPress, Zoom, Canva,
Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Gmail, and PastPerfect. $17 per
hour, 18 hours per week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10am-4pm.
Prior to extending an offer of employment, the finalists must prove
that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19; or have applied for an
exemption from this requirement because a physician, physician’s
assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse has determined that the
administration of COVID-19 vaccine is likely to be detrimental to their
health, or the finalist objects to vaccination on the basis of a
sincerely held religious or spiritual belief. Each application for an
exemption will be considered on an individualized, case-by-case basis,
and any applicant for an exemption must provide appropriate supporting
documentation if requested.
