The
Westport Library is offering an exciting opportunity for a Marketing
and Communications professional with a proven understanding of and
success in the development and implementation of marketing and
communications strategies and best practices, to join one of America’s

The Westport
Library is based in downtown Westport, CT which offers a seaside climate
with breathtaking natural assets, sophisticated modern living, and
proximity to New York City and easy access to the entire Northeast via
train, keeping you close to everything.
The Westport Library has
recently undergone a $21 million renovation which includes three
flexible levels for patrons to use to create, explore and study. We also
offer state- of- the-art Media and Post-Production Studios and a
beautiful cafe. Our staff, from those newly hired to those who have been
with us for years, is committed to creating an even better library. We

The
Marketing and Communications Director will develop, implement, and
evaluate the success of a strategic marketing and communications plan
designed to increase the Library’s brand identity, broaden awareness of
our programs and services, support fundraising initiatives and drive
meaningful community engagement.
Other key responsibilities
include: Leading the development of marketing and communications
campaigns, overseeing implementation, and tracking and reporting on all
results. Identifying latest trends and recommending improved and
innovative marketing and communication approaches. Establishing and
implementing a plan to increase the consistency, reach and impact of all
messaging. Overseeing the Library’s reputation management across
platforms including social media, press and other digital platforms.
Ensuring Library information is up to date and well represented across
social media platforms. Monitoring and ensuring the website is being
used as an effective marketing tool and ensuring its ongoing usability,
relevance, and accuracy.
The selected candidate will possess a
bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus seven or
more years’ experience as a Marketing and Communications professional
which includes public and media relations experience or equivalent.
Management experience is highly desired. Additional requirements include
proven success in developing and implementing marketing and
communications strategies and best practices that achieve targeted
results; experience in developing marketing collateral and in managing
and creating website content; experience in all aspects of event
communications and experience with e-marketing, social media best
practices and emerging trends and web analytics and best practices.
Photography and videography skills are required as is a willingness and
ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Success requires
being highly organized with excellent project management, interpersonal
and collaboration skills and consistently delivering quality results.
Relocation will be considered for the selected candidate.
