Cataloging and Metadata Strategies Assistant - DiMenna-Nyselius Library, Fairfield University
BASIC FUNCTION: Performs complex copy-cataloging tasks. Supervises and
trains student assistants. Maintains OCLC database and the library’s
cataloging system.
EDUCATION: Associate’s degree required; LTA certificate preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1-year previous library experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Some familiarity with computer systems required.
Accuracy in typing or data entry. Attention to detail and accuracy
important. Written and oral communication skills. Preferred:
Demonstrated knowledge of integrated library systems, such as Alma.
Preferred: Experience in cataloging.
SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL: 1-2 student assistants
REPORTS TO: Cataloging and Metadata Strategies Librarian
Salary: $24.93/hour. Full time.
This position is based at Fairfield University’s Fairfield, CT campus.
