Manager of Partnerships and Projects - CT
Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the
Humanities located in Middletown, Connecticut, seeks a full-time (37.5
hours), Manager of Partnerships and Projects.
CT Humanities (CTH) administers the Connecticut Humanities Fund, maintains the websites connecticuthistory.org and teachitct.org,
and provides support to Connecticut's cultural organizations. With an
expected $30.7M of funding from the state over two years, CTH will be
expanding its grantmaking, partnerships, and statewide public humanities
projects.
Description: Reporting to the
Executive Director, the Manager of Partnerships and Projects will serve
as a liaison with CT Humanities' funded partners, convene partner
groups, and provide guidance, assess progress, and report impact of
partner activities and projects relating to CTH's mission, strategic
goals, and funding priorities.
Current projects to be managed
include digital collections management, access, and preservation
integration for statewide digital content providers; a first ever
statewide inventory of existing oral history collections; and training
and guidance to help small cultural organizations interpret humanities
projects in public spaces.
This person will also work across CTH
departments to develop more inclusive and representative content for,
and expand access to, our digital resources.

Salary:
$70,000/year, plus full CTH benefits package (health, dental, vision,
and life insurance, retirement plan, and vacation and paid time off)
Job Duration: This is a two-year position with the possibility of extensions, dependent on continued state funding support.
Essential skills include:
Project management experience. Experience with public humanities.
Strong computer skills (Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel,
SharePoint, Teams and PowerPoint). Experience with Zoom or other virtual
meeting platforms required. Knowledge of intellectual property rights.
Working knowledge of digital library systems including metadata and
interoperability. Familiarity with archives/library/museum collections
management standards and best practices. Familiarity with metadata
standards/best practices for access, preservation and use. Experience
working with diverse communities, peoples and organizations. A desire
and ability to work independently, move quickly, but deliberately; share
and receive critical feedback.
This position requires strong
communication between staff, board members, grantees, partners and the
public. Understanding these relationships is critical and excellent
communication skills are required.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Liaison with project partners and committees. Manage and coordinate
workflow for multiple projects. Work collaboratively with organizations
to identify common goals and find solutions to challenges for mutually
beneficial results. Develop reporting framework and guidelines for
partners. Identify and communicate project strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, threats. Communicate project results to staff/board.
Manage intellectual property contracts and content flow. Occasional
in-state travel may be required. Other related duties as assigned.
Our wish list:
Knowledge of history and culture. MLIS or Master’s degree in Museum
Studies, Archives, Public History, or Digital Humanities, or relevant
experience preferred. Knowledge of CT Digital Archive, Digital Public
Library of America; or Library of Congress’ digital strategy.

CTH’s workday is 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with room for
flexibility in employee schedules. The Partnership and Project Manager
will work both remotely and onsite at CTH’s Middletown office.
