Circulation and Tech Services Librarian - Thomaston Public Library. Seeking a collaborative person to join the Thomaston Public Library team at our combined Adult circulation/reference department. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with the public, have attention to detail, and possess excellent computer literacy, communication, and customer service skills.
     Duties & Qualifications: The Circulation and Tech Services Librarian will be responsible for cataloging and preparing all library materials for circulation in the adult department, maintaining consistency in the cataloging, classification, and physical processing of adult library materials. Maintains statistics on collection inventory and technical services activity, and provides periodic reports thereof, as directed. Responsible for resolving circulation-related problems, including procedures to identify and retrieve overdue materials, and settles problems arising from late, damaged, or lost materials.
     The Circulation & Technical Services Librarian is responsible for other library duties as assigned by the Library Director and must be available to occasionally cover the Children’s desk and process children’s materials in the absence of the Children’s Assistant.
     Familiarity with Evergreen and Bibliomation an absolute plus.
     All duties will be performed under the general supervision of the Library Director.
     Education and Experience: BA/BS degree, plus two years' experience in a public library. A combination of education and experience in handling public library technical services will be considered.
     Hours: 35 hours per week including weekdays, 2 nights, and every third Saturday outside of July/August (9:30 am to 3 pm). Town of Thomaston full-time benefits. Hourly starting rate $16.00-21.00/hr depending on education and experience.
