Library Information/Technology Literacy Teacher - Toffolon Elementary School, Plainville. Successful
elementary teaching experience required. Must have excellent
interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team. Must
display knowledge of ISTE standards, as well as an understanding of
Common Core math and literacy standards. Must have the ability to work
with students and staff to promote technology and digital literacy.
Responsibilities: Supports ISTE and grade level common core numeracy
and literacy standards through instructional technology. Implement
curriculum to promote curiosity and develop media and information
literacy. Use technology to personalize learning experiences. Use
collaborative tools and virtual resources to engage students in
discovery. Create learning opportunities where students foster ownership
of goals to promote problem solving and creativity in a design
process/computational thinking. Guide students to positive citizenship
in an effort to build a safe digital community. Explore instructional
approaches that leverage technology to improve teaching and learning.
Supports the use of instructional technology and other media sources to
foster critical thinking, enhance research skills and develop
enthusiastic readers. Use assessment data to guide instruction and
direction of the program. Promote the use of innovative technology in a
makerspace setting. Supports school community with the use of new
digital tools that lead to success in teaching and learning.
Qualifications: 048 or 062 Certification Required, Elementary Education Certification Desired.
