Library Assistant II – The
Canterbury Public Library is seeking an energetic, creative,
customer-oriented individual to fill the position of Library Assistant
II.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize and coordinate library programs.
Provide reader advisory and reference services. Assists in the planning
of summer reading programs. Coordinate ILLs and catalog new materials.
Update library website and social media sites. Perform routine library
services including circulation activities and shelving. Provide
excellent customer service to patrons of all ages, including instruction
in use of library services and facilities. Supervise Library Assistant
I.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years
previous library experience. Must be able to communicate effectively, in
person and in writing. Strong technology skills, including experience
with virtual programming required.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: $16
per hour. 23-25 hours per week, including rotating Saturdays. This
position is not eligible for benefits.
